Stan’s Story – Outfitter, Guide, Hunter, Best-Selling Author!

Born in Alberta in 1948 my first four years would be spent living in the wilds near the small coal mine town of Mercoal, now a ghost town. My first memories of our wild neighbours date back to my fourth year, then at age five I was adopted by the Reiser’s, a hard working farm family. My life would change for the better.

The farm was located on what then was “farm fringe” country, literally on the edge of forestry lands. One thing did not change, my exposure to the outdoors. My new, older brothers loved to hunt and fish and by the age of ten my world revolved around the fishing rod, the gun, and horses. I was, early on, addicted to the wild adventures.

That addiction would lead me far and wide from Alaska to Panama. That addiction would inevitably set my course and I would become an outfitter, operating the company known as Alberta Trophy Hunts. This book, of the same name, details not only some of my exploits, but those of family, friends and clients, hunting some of the most sought after species North America has to offer.
